About Coloring Austin

The Studio

Under the name Coloring Austin, watercolor artist Avery Price brings creativity and storytelling to the brands and spaces that shape her hometown.

Each painting celebrates connection, between people and place, memory and design, using watercolor’s unpredictable quality to capture what makes a moment or space feel alive.

Over the past eight years, Avery has worked on projects that blend fine art and brand identity, including collaborations with Kendra Scott, The Four Seasons, Uchi, COTA, Camp Lucy, Pershing, Alice + Olivia, and the Governor of Texas.

From large-scale hospitality commissions to product launches and creative campaigns, her work helps businesses tell their stories with warmth and authenticity.

The Artist

A born-and-raised Austinite, Avery lives on the East Side with her husband, Anthony, and their two daughters, Tate and Blake. She’s been painting and creating for as long as she can remember, continuing her studies through college before building her own studio practice.

Drawn to watercolor for its expressive and fluid nature, she developed a style that blends playful looseness with thoughtful detail, art that feels alive and full of character.

The Philosophy

Avery’s work is guided by a simple belief: creativity connects us.

Whether she’s painting a neighborhood Avery’s work is guided by a simple belief: Places stay with us.

They hold our memories, our milestones, our quiet routines.

A first date. A neighborhood café. A corner bar where life keeps unfolding.

Through watercolor, Avery captures the places that shape us, interpreting them not just as buildings, but as emotional landmarks. Her work is rooted in the idea that creativity connects us, and that the places we return to, physically or in memory, deserve to be remembered with care.

Whether she’s painting a beloved Austin institution, collaborating with a brand, or creating a piece to mark a personal moment, Avery’s goal is the same: to elevate the everyday and honor the places that stay with you.

Her approach to creative partnerships reflects this philosophy:

meaningful, human, and grounded in joy.

“Life is fun and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.”

That outlook informs both her art and her approach to creative partnerships: meaningful, human, and rooted in joy.
